Capabilities and Limitations for the Use of Steel Magnetic Parameter Relaxation Measurements in Magnetic Structure Analysis (Review)
The principles and limitations of these measurements for magnetic testing of steel structures are summarized. The connection between these parameters and parameters of the saturation hysteresis loop is specified. The conditions are determined, under which direct or indirect measurements of the relaxation magnetic parameters are highly sensitive to changes in structural state and phase composition of steels. The examples are given for the quality inspection of temper products from medium-carbon steels.

Fast Detection System with the Mythen 1K Microstrip Linear Position-Sensitive Detector Developed for the DRON-7 X-Ray Powder Diffractometer
The system for fast registration of X-ray diffraction patterns has been developed and integrated into the DRON-7 diffractometer to speed it up. The description of the set as well as technical and operational parameters of the system is given. The advantages and the limitations of the software for tuning, calibration and data collection are considered. The examples of the system applications to the X-ray diffraction studies of various polycrystalline samples are shown.

Computer Radiography as Alternative to Conventional Radiographic Film Technology
The main part of the article is devoted to experimental work comparing the quality of images taken with X-ray film usage and with CR systems. Authors provide some results obtained using these techniques. This work was done together with CRISM “PROMETEY” and “RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF RUBBER COATINGS AND PRODUCTS”. The guidelines for the CR technique operation are provided in the third part of the article. The tests are described to be fulfilled periodically to check the CR system operability.

About Diffraction Effects at X-Ray Inspection
Exposure an object to X-Ray radiation is accompanied with diffraction and intensity of diffracted beams are usually much less than the ones passed through the object. Academic literature data of diffraction at X-ray testing and alternative interpretation of the data are considered in the article.
